Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is partnering with a school district in the Commerce City, Colorado area to hire a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time contract position. This role offers the opportunity to support students across a K-12 setting by helping them develop the motor, sensory, and functional skills necessary for success in the classroom. The district is seeking a collaborative professional who is committed to fostering student independence and educational achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students with identified needs
  • Develop and implement therapy plans that align with IEP goals and educational objectives
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual and group settings
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff regarding student accommodations and interventions
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and assistive technology when appropriate
  • Monitor student progress and prepare required reports and documentation
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the special education process

  • Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy principles
  • Ability to assess fine motor, visual motor, sensory, and self-help skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet individual student needs
  • Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Occupational Therapist license
  • Eligibility for or possession of a Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider License preferred
  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations and IEP processes
  • Experience with school-based service delivery models is a plus
  • Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • NBCOT certification required
  • Experience

  • Previous experience working with pediatric populations preferred
  • School-based experience is beneficial but not required
  • New graduates with relevant clinical fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

  • 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $65.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
