Step into a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This opportunity runs from August through June and is based on east bay campuses near San Jose, CA. Work closely with experienced professionals and make a direct impact on student growth throughout the school year.

You'll be engaged in a full-time role with a consistent weekday schedule, providing vital occupational therapy support in educational settings. The student caseload will be determined once assignments for the academic year are finalized.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active COTA license in California
  • Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy, especially with elementary-aged children
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising OTs, teachers, and support staff
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to professional standards and ethical practices
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized therapy programs
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups, helping students develop fine motor, visual-motor, and daily living skills
  • Collect data to monitor student progress and inform ongoing therapy decisions
  • Engage in team meetings and collaborate on strategies for student support
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and professional guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student needs
