Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience in either healthcare or school settings (school-based experience preferred)
  • Eligible for licensure and compliance with state and district credentialing requirements
  • Familiarity with IEP systems; training on district-specific platforms provided
  • Ability to work independently, with oversight provided by district supervisors in accordance with state and district guidelines
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ individualized needs
  • Travel between assigned schools (itinerant role with paid travel)
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and administrative planning time
  • Maintain timely, accurate therapy documentation within the district’s electronic IEP system
  • Receive ongoing training and professional development
