Embark on a dynamic role supporting young learners at a special education preschool in the vibrant Kansas City, MO area. This contract opportunity provides a unique space to make a difference in early learning environments, collaborating with passionate teams and families.

In this position, you will play a central part in the developmental journey of preschool-aged students with special needs. Your expertise will help shape their educational experience and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct screenings and comprehensive assessments for preschoolers with diverse abilities

Deliver targeted direct and consultative occupational therapy services

Participate actively in evaluation and IEP team meetings

Support classroom staff and families with strategies and resources

Maintain clear, timely documentation consistent with educational guidelines

Adapt to evolving caseloads and contribute to program development

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Occupational Therapy license in Missouri

Experience working in a school, preferably at the preschool or early childhood level

Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers, therapists, and families

Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation practices

Flexibility, organizational skill, and a child-centered mindset

Position Details:

Caseload based at a special education preschool environment

Typical onsite hours are 8:15am – 3:45pm; preferred schedule is Tuesday – Thursday (3 days/week), but Monday – Wednesday may also be considered

Now open to full-time scheduling for the right candidate

Assignment ongoing until a permanent district hire is found, with potential for more hours as the program grows
