As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) operating on-site, you’ll collaborate with an experienced OT team to deliver direct services, support skill development, and make meaningful contributions across an itinerant school setting. Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active NM Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensure (required)
  • Experience working in schools and with pediatric populations preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills—collaborate effectively with OTs, staff, and families
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
  • Adaptability to work with diverse student needs across multiple locations
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students as guided by supervising Occupational Therapists
  • Travel (itinerant model) between school sites within the district to serve assigned caseloads
  • Assist with completion of evaluations, assessments, and timely report-writing
  • Maintain accurate treatment and progress documentation per school and state regulations
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development
