Virtual Occupational Health Practitioner - Texas
Qualifications
• Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• Active Texas Occupational Therapist license issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE)
• Successful completion of the Texas OT Jurisprudence Exam
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred)
• Experience with ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) committee meetings, IEP development, and virtual fine motor/sensory assessments is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using teletherapy platforms, digital resources, and technology Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Intervention
• Conduct virtual evaluations to assess fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-help needs within the educational setting
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to student needs in a remote environment
• Provide direct teletherapy services focused on functional school goals and track student progress
• Use data to adapt sensory, fine motor, or environmental strategies as needed
Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with general/special education teachers, parents, and administrative staff to promote classroom access and student independence
• Provide recommendations for virtual accommodations, assistive technology, and sensory strategies
• Participate in virtual ARD/IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress notes, service logs, and IEP goals
• Ensure all evaluations and services strictly align with Texas Education Agency (TEA), district, and federal special education guidelines
• Complete evaluation summaries, eligibility documentation, and required compliance paperwork
Technology & Teletherapy Tools
• Utilize virtual platforms and digital tools to deliver engaging, fine-motor and sensory-focused therapy sessions
• Adapt activities, visual aids, and interventions for an effective online learning environment
• Assist families and school teams with setting up platforms for virtual sessions
Advocacy & Education
• Support students in utilizing accommodations, adaptive tools, and assistive technologies
• Provide guidance and resources to families and educators regarding occupational development in children
