Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• Active Minnesota Occupational Therapist license issued by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred)
• Experience with IEP development, fine motor/sensory evaluations, and virtual service delivery is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using teletherapy platforms, digital therapy resources, and technology

Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Intervention
• Conduct virtual evaluations to assess fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care needs in the educational environment
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans in a remote setting
• Provide direct teletherapy services focused on functional school goals and track student progress
• Use data to adapt sensory, fine motor, or environmental strategies as needed

Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to promote classroom access and student independence
• Provide recommendations for classroom modifications, assistive devices, and sensory supports
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain precise and timely documentation of progress notes, service logs, and IEP goals
• Ensure all evaluations and services align with Minnesota state, district, and federal special education guidelines
• Complete evaluation reports, eligibility summaries, and compliance paperwork as required

Technology & Teletherapy Tools
• Utilize virtual platforms and digital tools to deliver engaging, fine-motor and sensory-focused therapy sessions
• Adapt activities, visual aids, and interventions for an effective online learning environment
• Assist families and school teams with setting up platforms for virtual sessions

Advocacy & Education
• Support students in utilizing accommodations, adaptive tools, and assistive technologies
• Provide guidance and resources to families and educators regarding occupational development in children

Benefits of Role
• 1099 Based
• Compensation for Direct & Indirect Services
• Estimated Pay Range: $45 – $50+ / hr (commensurate with experience, district budget, and candidate fit)
