Step into a rewarding contract position as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students for the full academic year. In this part-time role, you’ll work three days a week (.6 FTE), collaborating with dedicated educators and professionals to help students thrive both in and out of the classroom. Your expertise will enable students to overcome barriers, foster their independence, and participate successfully in their educational journey.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California
  • Previous experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of educational goals and how therapy supports student progress
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, families, and staff
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt interventions to different student needs
  • What You’ll Do:

  • Assess students’ functional and developmental abilities in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
  • Provide direct treatment, consultation, and training for students and school staff
  • Document progress, maintain IEP paperwork, and report results to team and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings and act as a resource for OT strategies across classroom environments
  • Support students in fine motor, visual perceptual, and daily living skill development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages each student’s growth and self-confidence
