Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) with a dynamic education team in the San Jose area. This contract role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by supporting occupational therapists across multiple sites, enhancing the educational experiences and outcomes for students needing OT services.

This role runs ASAP through the end of the school year, with a schedule of three days per week, six hours a day (8:15 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.), allowing for a balanced work-life rhythm. You’ll be instrumental in providing hands-on support to OTs, contributing to the assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for students across the district.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification and licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to support multiple OTs and diverse caseloads
  • Ability to travel between district sites as needed
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and school staff in a supportive, educational environment
  • Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions under the supervision of occupational therapists
  • Assist with documentation, progress monitoring, and maintaining records
  • Collaborate with OTs to modify activities and supports based on student needs
  • Facilitate effective communication between educators, therapy staff, and families
  • Promote student independence and participation in the educational setting
