Step into a dynamic contract position supporting K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This full-time opportunity runs from late August through early June, providing comprehensive support during the academic year. You'll work alongside dedicated professionals to enhance student success and promote greater independence within the learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid and current Connecticut COTA certification.
  • Recent hands-on experience working within a school setting is required.
  • Demonstrated strengths in clinical skills specific to pediatric populations.
  • Comfortable managing a diverse caseload spanning kindergarten through grade 12.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, students, and families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying student needs and schedules.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy under supervision of an OTR, as part of students’ IEP goals.
  • Assist students in building fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills for academic success.
  • Document daily progress and maintain detailed, accurate records.
  • Work with educators and staff to modify classroom activities or environments when necessary.
  • Participate in team meetings, student evaluations, and planning sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and caregivers about student progress and strategies.
