About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a supportive Early Intervention school team in the Bronx, New York area. This is an exciting opportunity for a COTA who is looking to begin part-time and transition toward full-time hours as the program and caseload grow.

The school is entering its first year as an Early Intervention program and is building a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on supporting young children and their developmental needs.

Position Highlights

  • Provide occupational therapy services to Early Intervention students.
  • Begin with a few hours per week, with the opportunity to grow toward 40 hours per week as the caseload develops.
  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Work with approximately 10 students per classroom.
  • Each classroom includes a 1:1 teaching assistant for each child and a special education teacher.
  • Collaborate with OTs, teachers, support staff, families, and other related-service professionals.
  • Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, functional, and participation skills.
  • Participate in goal development, progress monitoring, and documentation.
  • 12-month position with potential for consistent full-time hours as the program expands.
  • Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current COTA certification and/or eligibility for New York licensure.
  • Pediatric or Early Intervention experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for working with young children and supporting developmental progress.
