Elevate your career as a school-based Occupational Therapist, working with a vibrant mix of students across both public and private educational settings in the Kilmarnock, VA area. This contract position offers the flexibility of working 2 to 3 days per week, allowing you to balance your professional commitments while making a meaningful impact in students’ lives.

You’ll support 11 students directly, while also providing indirect services for 8 others—creating a broad scope for your professional influence. Your day-to-day will include collaborating with staff to develop and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), preparing progress reports, and ensuring all required OT services are provided—making up for any missed sessions as needed. You’ll help students build skills essential for learning and participation, working closely with educators and families across three public and two private schools.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license required
  • Experience working with school-aged children strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEPs and educational documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational abilities
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality OT services to students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Complete assessments, progress monitoring, and documentation
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
  • Offer both direct therapy and indirect support as needed
  • Address make-up sessions to ensure compliance with service requirements
