An exceptional contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist ready to make a difference within a K-12 educational setting. Working on-site and full time (37.5 hours per week) in the Salem area, you will be part of an impactful team committed to supporting students’ academic and functional success. The assignment begins September 8, 2026, and continues through June 17, 2027.

As an itinerant therapist, you will work across multiple schools to address varied student needs. Your clinical expertise and ability to collaborate with education professionals will be vital to fostering student growth and achievement.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Prior experience in a school-based OT role or with pediatric populations
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, documentation, and related compliance
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and teams
  • Adaptability to travel among different school sites
  • Ability to manage caseloads independently and efficiently
  • Willingness to provide the names, titles, and email contacts for your three most recent supervisor references; this is a mandatory requirement for consideration
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students K-12
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide input for IEPs
  • Document interventions and progress in compliance with educational standards
  • Educate staff and families on strategies to support students’ participation in the school environment
