This onsite occupational therapy position nearby Peoria, AZ, is focused on providing direct services within a vibrant school environment. Each week, you will work 32.5 hours with students ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade, addressing unique needs and making a meaningful difference every day.

Preferred candidates bring experience working with children on the Autism spectrum, developmental delays, Down syndrome, and other special needs. You’ll be responsible for evaluations and interventions tailored to school-aged students—without the supervisory responsibilities for COTAs. Strong collaborative skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for pediatric occupational therapy will contribute to your success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Occupational Therapy license
  • Experience with school-aged children, especially those with Autism, developmental disabilities, and Down syndrome
  • Understanding of IEP documentation and goal setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Must meet any additional district or state-specific requirements
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough OT evaluations and provide evidence-based therapy for students in kindergarten through 8th grade
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEPs
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress reports
  • Utilize creative strategies to facilitate skill development and foster student independence
