As a COTA working with students from kindergarten through high school, you will help them achieve greater independence and participate more fully in their educational experiences. Utilizing your expertise in therapeutic strategies, you will support individualized educational plans and collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain for Connecticut
  • Experience supporting students in a school-based or pediatric healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and effective data collection for progress monitoring
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to a diverse caseload ranging from kindergarteners to high school seniors
  • Excellent communication skills and flexibility to adjust to dynamic school environments
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy interventions as directed by supervising OTR, focusing on enhancing daily living and academic skills
  • Facilitate sensory, motor, and adaptive skill-building activities tailored to student needs
  • Collect and document data, track progress, and assist with ongoing evaluations
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and the educational team to support student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to collaborative planning
