Required Skills and Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Current state licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a COTA

Experience within school-based or pediatric settings preferred

Understanding of IEPs and ability to follow prescribed therapy goals and intervention plans

Strong communication skills for working with students, teachers, and families

Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

Organizational skills for managing documentation efficiently

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver direct therapy services to students in group or individual sessions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist

Implement and adapt treatment plans to address fine motor, sensory, and daily living skill needs

Participate in team meetings, sharing observations and progress updates with staff and families

Collect and maintain accurate documentation as required by school protocols and special education guidelines

Support classroom teams with strategies to bolster student participation and engagement

Help develop and incorporate assistive devices or modifications as necessary

Contribute to a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning atmosphere
