This 12-week Occupational Therapist assignment begins in September and offers the chance to work full-time with a caseload of PreK through 4th grade students. Ideal candidates bring specialized skills in providing school-based occupational therapy interventions, adapting activities to promote student participation, and working within multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active New Jersey state OT license
  • Previous experience or strong interest in school-based therapy, particularly with PreK–4th grade students
  • Solid understanding of IEP process, documentation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and other support professionals
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Evaluate students to determine therapy needs and create targeted intervention plans
  • Facilitate both individual and group sessions focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive strategies
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment progress, and outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to provide consultations and support classroom adaptations
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
