We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team in a school-based setting in Peterborough, NH. In this role, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other professionals to support and enhance students’ learning and participation through therapeutic interventions. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced COTA to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students in a supportive educational environment.

Overview: 

  • Short Term Coverage Leave - December until end of January 
  • Full-Time, 36.25 hours per week 
  • K-12th Grade Caseload

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and interventions designed by the Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and on the school grounds.
  • Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-regulation skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure students' needs are met.
  • Document and track students' progress toward goals, and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the development of treatment plans and help in assessing student needs and progress.
  • Assist with equipment, adaptive tools, and strategies to enhance student participation in school activities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, offering insights and contributing to the overall educational plan for each student.

    Qualifications:

  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Valid state licensure in New Hampshire (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions for students with a variety of disabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Commitment to promoting the success and well-being of students.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with special education students and/or a background in pediatric therapy.
  • Familiarity with IEP (Individualized Education Plan) processes and related documentation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
