BlazerJobs is seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a school team in Kerman, CA. This is a part-time position, working 15.5 hours per week, scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday (7.75 hours each day). As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic support to students, helping them develop the skills needed for academic success and daily living activities.

You’ll work with a diverse group of students, assisting with motor skills, sensory processing, and other developmental needs, while collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapy plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or small group settings
  • Assist students with fine motor skills, sensory integration, and activities of daily living
  • Document and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure therapy activities are integrated into students' daily routines
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising OT to review student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
  • Assist with classroom modifications and equipment to support students’ needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and regulations

    Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Active COTA license in the state of California
  • Experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and manage caseload documentation
  • Compassionate, patient, and flexible attitude toward working with students
