We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join a dynamic school-based team in Fort Lauderdale, FL for the 2025-2026 school year. Position Overview:

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), you will play a crucial role in providing direct therapy services to students with a range of physical, developmental, and sensory challenges in grades K-12. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement individualized treatment plans and support students' educational success by improving their fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and independence in daily activities. This position will require working closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a positive and supportive environment that promotes student development and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students across grades K-12, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques to enhance students' participation in daily school activities.
  • Assist the licensed Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans and modifying interventions to meet students’ individual needs.
  • Develop and implement sensory interventions for students with sensory processing challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families to ensure students’ needs are being met and that IEP goals are being achieved.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on students’ overall progress and recommendations for adjustments.
  • Provide recommendations and strategies for classroom modifications to support students' occupational therapy needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or equivalent.
  • Current Florida OTA license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust therapy techniques based on students’ specific needs.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of therapy services and progress.

    Position Details & Benefits:

  • Full-time position, during regular school hours (M-F).
  • Start date for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Pay begins at $25 per hour for qualified candidates.
  • Placement based on experience and qualifications (grades K-12).
