Job Title: School Occupational Therapy Assistant

Location: Ruidoso, NM

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled School Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our educational team in Ruidoso, NM. This role is essential in supporting students with special needs by assisting in the implementation of therapy programs designed to enhance their functional skills and overall school experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in delivering individualized and group occupational therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Implement therapy plans and interventions to support students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.

Help students develop and practice skills needed for academic success and daily independence.

Observe and document student progress, providing regular updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapeutic activities into classroom routines.

Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and therapists to discuss student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.

Provide guidance and support to students to help them achieve their therapy goals.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting or a related field.

Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

Valid New Mexico Occupational Therapy Assistant license.

Experience working with children in an educational or therapeutic setting is preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.
