Job Description:
Seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support our occupational therapy team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients or students develop and improve their daily living and functional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans.
Provide therapy sessions to patients/students to enhance mobility, coordination, and independence.
Document patient progress and communicate updates to the OT and care team.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises and strategies to continue therapy at home.
Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations for occupational therapy services.
Requirements:
Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
License: Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Oregon.
Certification: NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification required.
Experience: Previous experience in a clinical, school, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and adaptability.
