*NEW* Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Needed in Smyrna, Delaware!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy interventions for students aged Pre-K to 5th grade under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Provide direct support to students to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other areas related to school functioning.
Collaborate with educators, school staff, and families to ensure the development of individualized therapy plans.
Conduct assessments and collect data on student progress, modifying interventions as needed.
Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation as required by school policy.
Qualifications:
Certification: Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from the NBCOT.
Experience: Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting, is preferred.
Licensing: Must be licensed to practice as a COTA in the state of Delaware.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, and occupational therapy principles.
Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with students, staff, and families. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to move, lift, or assist students as needed, including classroom settings and physical activities.
Schedule:
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP, with a contract lasting through June 11, 2025.
Some ESY (Extended School Year) hours will be included.
