Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time Opportunity in Ruidoso, NM

Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join school districts in the Ruidoso, NM area. This full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized occupational therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students to enhance fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional performance in school-related activities.
  • Monitor and document student progress, ensuring compliance with goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' overall educational and developmental needs.
  • Adapt and modify learning environments and materials to improve student access and participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    Qualifications:

    Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
  • Active state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in New Mexico.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
