Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time, school-based position in Schaumburg, IL. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work within a school setting, assisting students with special needs in developing motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As a COTA in this school-based role, your responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to implement individualized therapy plans and strategies tailored to students’ needs.

Providing direct therapy services to students to enhance fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory processing.

Assisting students in developing functional daily living skills such as dressing, feeding, and mobility.

Monitoring student progress, documenting results, and reporting progress to teachers, parents, and other team members.

Participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and providing professional input on goals and strategies for student development.

Working closely with teachers, families, and other professionals to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Assisting with additional duties and therapy-related tasks as required by the school district.

Requirements:

Must be a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Illinois.

Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.

Must meet all state and local regulations governing occupational therapy practice.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other professionals.

Passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives and educational experiences.
