Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time, school-based position in Schaumburg, IL. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work within a school setting, assisting students with special needs in developing motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As a COTA in this school-based role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to implement individualized therapy plans and strategies tailored to students’ needs.
  • Providing direct therapy services to students to enhance fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory processing.
  • Assisting students in developing functional daily living skills such as dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitoring student progress, documenting results, and reporting progress to teachers, parents, and other team members.
  • Participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and providing professional input on goals and strategies for student development.
  • Working closely with teachers, families, and other professionals to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assisting with additional duties and therapy-related tasks as required by the school district.

    Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
  • Must meet all state and local regulations governing occupational therapy practice.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other professionals.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives and educational experiences.
