Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a school-based team in Lovington, NM. This is a full-time, school-based position where you will work directly with students to help them develop essential motor skills and enhance their daily living abilities. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As a COTA in this role, your responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to create and implement individualized therapy plans for students.

Providing direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory integration.

Assisting students in developing functional daily living skills, such as dressing, eating, and mobility.

Monitoring and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating results with teachers, parents, and other team members.

Participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, offering input and helping to set goals for students.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, including educators and families, to create a supportive environment for students with special needs.

Assisting with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed by the school district.

Requirements:

Must be a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of New Mexico.

Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.

Must meet all local and state regulations for occupational therapy practice.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.

A compassionate and patient demeanor, with a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
