Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) for a full-time role with school districts in the Columbus, GA area. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment, helping students develop the skills they need for academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of students with developmental, physical, and cognitive disabilities.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall functional abilities.
  • Support students in developing self-care, social, and pre-vocational skills to enhance their participation in the school environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure therapy goals are integrated into the students’ daily activities.
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and assist in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and district regulations regarding the provision of occupational therapy services in a school setting.

    Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Georgia State Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school settings, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant therapy practices, including sensory integration and motor skill development.
