We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team with a school district in Lemont, IL. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in assisting our students in achieving their maximum potential in their daily activities and enhancing their overall quality of life. This position offers full-time hours, providing ample opportunities to make a positive impact in the lives of students.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students based on their needs and goals.

Conduct therapy sessions and interventions to improve students' motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and functional abilities.

Provide assistance and support to students in daily activities such as grooming, dressing, eating, and classroom participation.

Monitor and document students' progress, maintaining accurate and detailed records.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the education team to ensure consistent and effective therapy integration in the classroom.

Offer guidance and training to teachers and support staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.

Stay updated on current trends and best practices in occupational therapy through ongoing professional development opportunities.

Advocate for students' needs and collaborate with families to promote continuity of care.

Qualifications:

Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.

Strong knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and interventions.

Ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other team members effectively.

Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Current CPR and first aid certification (preferred).
