Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Ruidoso, NM
Full-Time | 37.5 Hours/Week | School-Based Position

BlazerJobs is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a full-time school-based position in Ruidoso, NM. This is a great opportunity to work with students across K-12th grades in a supportive and collaborative school environment. The position involves providing direct therapy services, as well as completing evaluations, writing reports, and participating in IEP meetings. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across K-12th grades, addressing a variety of needs such as motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive behavior.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess students' occupational therapy needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Attend and participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, contributing to goal setting and progress updates.
  • Provide therapy sessions and monitor student progress toward meeting their therapeutic goals.
  • Write detailed reports on evaluations, progress, and therapy outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure that occupational therapy goals are integrated into students' educational plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including treatment plans, progress reports, and assessments.

  • Location: Ruidoso, NM
  • Position Type: Full-Time, School-Based
  • Dates: ASAP through 05/30/2025
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Caseload: Varying caseload with K-12th grade students
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience as a COTA in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
  • Familiarity with the IEP process and experience in writing reports and participating in meetings is a plus
  • Qualifications:
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification required
  • New Mexico State Licensure required
  • Experience with school-based occupational therapy services preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
